We evaluated a Powerwall 3 solar shutdown problem by testing the photovoltaic strings and mid-circuit interrupter paths. This methodical process helps distinguish an MCI issue from conductor, connector or other solar-array faults.
Problem: both SMA Sunny Boy inverters on this ground-mounted solar system were no longer producing power. Solution: we diagnosed the inverter and array conditions, documented the failure and provided a favorable replacement path to restore reliable solar production and modern monitoring.
Field experience
